Different people have different definitions of what they consider to be attractive. Men have different opinions of what they deem attractive in a woman, and women have different opinions of what they deem attractive in themselves.
Some people really focus on the face, others focus on the curves, some think the hair is the most important, while others may have a foot fetish. Personality will also matter a great deal, but in this attractive women survey, we will only focus on the physical attributes of women.
Here are five key factors that affect physical attractiveness in women.

Attractive Women Feature 1 – Face
Eyes – The eyes are windows into our soul.
Eyes come in many different shapes, colors, and sizes.
Larger, rounder, eyes tend to give women a more vulnerable, submissive look.
Sharper eyes or cat-eyes, give the appearance of a more powerful, assertive woman.
Eye color also matters. Blue or green colored eyes are traditionally more popular because they are more rare compared to black and brown eyes.
Lips – Lips can be full or thin.
Currently, there is a greater preference for fuller lips in our society. Fuller lips may appear more attractive in women because they are more sensual and indicate greater passion in bed.
Many of our female media symbols of today, including Angelina Jolie,Jessica Simpson, and Jessica Alba, sport fuller lips – either natural or acquired through plastic surgery.
Face shape
Finally, the shape of a woman’s face is also a key feature in determining attractiveness. The heart-shaped face is usually considered to be most attractive. Audrey Hepburn is a good example of a very attractive woman sporting a seemingly perfect heart-shaped face.
Women with squarer faces are generally deemed less attractive because a squarer facial structure is associated with a more masculine face. Oval-shaped female faces lie somewhere in-between the two.
Attractive Women Feature 2 – Breasts
A woman’s breasts are definitely one of the key features of attractiveness.
Breasts are a good indication of fertility, therefore evolutionary wise, larger breasts are preferred .over smaller ones.
Even for men who may not prefer larger breasts, larger breasts will still naturally catch their attention. Women’s breasts occupy a prominent position in their bodies, and men are hard-wired by their DNA to notice a woman’s breasts.
Given advances in plastic surgery, it is now possible for women to get whatever sized breasts they desire. This practice results in the unrealistic feminine ideal of today which is larger sized breasts combined with a narrow waist and a very slim build.
Attractive Women Feature 3 – Hair
Some people find long hair to be very attractive. Longer hair requires more upkeep, but it is also very flexible when it comes to styling.
Women with long hair can create a variety of different looks just by styling their hair differently. Wearing long hair down will better frame the face and also hide imperfections in facial symmetry.
The shorter the hair, the less flexibility a woman has to create a different look for herself. However, shorter hair is easier to maintain, and some people prefer the younger, more pixie look afforded by shorter hair.
Shorter hair will not hide facial-shape imperfections though, so it should only be attempted by those who have a more symmetrical face.
Hair can also be straight or curly. Curly hair will have more body, but is difficult to style. Curly hair can often appear unkempt if not properly handled. Straight hair is easier to style and keep neat, however, it can also look flat and limp. Clever blow-drying and use of hair products will help to provide straight hair with more body.
Attractive Women Feature 4 – Build
A woman’s build also affects her attractiveness.
Smaller, petite women are usually in high demand because societal norms dictate for a man to be larger or taller than his mate. Petite women, therefore, have a greater number of possible men to choose from, including shorter and taller men. However, petite women have a much harder time keeping a slim look because of their lesser height.
Taller women may have fewer men to choose from but they have a greater advantage in achieving a slim, willowy, and more refined elven look.
Our current society places great importance on slim or even thin women. Larger women are considered less attractive due of many years of negative media depictions.
Attractive Women Feature 5 – Dress
Finally, how a woman dresses and wears her make-up can also have a significant effect on her attractiveness.
Some women prefer to go for the understated, less is more look. Very light make-up with cooler clothing colors (greens, blues, grays).
Other women prefer to stand out, and will go for the more striking look with heavier/darker makeup, hotter clothing colors (reds, yellows), and more flamboyant clothing styles.
Accessories can also significantly alter a woman’s look. Larger earrings, for example. will catch someone’s attention and draw his eyes to her face. Belts can be used to break up the torso, and create a more segmented, shorter appearance. High heels can provide petite women with greater height and so on.
Accessorize carefully to complement your weaknesses, and enhance your strengths.

Wow, I’m actually considered almost attractive! Except for the build and the breasts, I have all the other things! Every one tells me no guys will like me, (I’m slim…) I’m depressed because of now I know most the guys like curves and bigger boobs. 🙁 What can I do with my dilemma, any help?

Actually I find women who are curvier and about c cup breast attractive. Plus tall women are so attractive, especially when they have long legs and a longer torso they are quite pretty. Heart shaped faces and medium lips are also very pretty.
I am from India.I give more importance to soul and character of a girl.Because in our culture women is considered as goddess.If girl is becutiful but lacks purity of soul and character then whole society considers her as ugly.

Audrey Hepburn’s face does not look heart shaped to me. Her face seems more of a square oval mix. There are a lot of sites that say she has a square face.
Another well researched hub. This is really just a statistic. Very often, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. When the chemistry takes place, the appearance comes second.
From my years in the scene in Boston, I have seen how some of the biggest players out there are equal opportunity feeders. And as I got older my parameters for what was attractive changed too. But for some things I have never changed, I don’t find women that are a lot heavier than me very attractive, if they are over six foot two, I can still find that appealing, but only if the woman was hot too. So for all the women out there that might not fill the bill, don’t despair, there is someone for everyone. Just have to get out there and meet them!!!

I’m a Pakistani female with mixed ethnic roots. Hence, I’m taller, fairer (but olive skinned) and more curvy/voluptuous (pear shaped) than the average Pakistani woman. I have an oval shaped face and almond-ish shaped eyes. Most Pakistani females are petite and short with straight, black/dark brown hair (mine is brown and curly) and mostly what men here prefer so I feel I don’t match a guy’s preference here. Plus there’s that media-driven stigma for women to be thin. I’d like to clear my doubts and hear others’ opinions 🙂

Well let me be the first to clear those doubts. You sound like my ideal. I LOVE LOVE LOVE, either an Hourglass figure, or a Pear Shaped figure. So you know, I’m a 6 foot tall dark haired dark eyed attractive Italian American male….with some pudge, I’m a little stocky, but I’m attractive. So I’m not an Ogre.
Anyway, I don’t know what I love more Hourglass or Pear. To be honest, I am Very into Hips, Butt, and Thighs, so when I see what I call “an anomaly” (rare to find) meaning an average upper half and a much wider and thicker lower half?…..that drives me WILD!! It stands out so much. Like a peacocks feathers. I know this one lady, she’s married : ( ,
But she is about 5’7″-5-8″ or maybe taller. Not sure. On the taller side. But Omg, her upper half is like regular. Not thin, just regular, average chest, fine, but Jesus Christ, her hips and thighs drive me wild. I actually start to breathe heavier when I see her. She is so hot lol. As a man, we see “hot women” all the time, but THOSE type of women really get my heart racing.
I’m not a pick up artist etc, I’m ok, an average guy, but I when I see that anomaly, extreme pear shape, I WILL find that courage deep within and make a move. I have to at least talk to her. It’s like meeting a celebrity for me. Lol. I have to talk to her. Lol.

I’m short, maybe 5’3″ (160cm) and I’m incredibly insecure about my height. I want another 2 inches at the least. I’m relatively curvy, I have 34D cups and I have an hourglass/pear body type, with my butt probably being the only feature that actually stands out. In an Asian culture, they want thin, pale and tall women. It’s so upsetting. My facial features are relatively okay, I have an oval face shape and dark brown eyes (almost black- my only feature I actually like about myself), they’re pretty large and round. I have long lashes which I’m happy with. My features are considered ‘western’-like and prominent compared to most asians as I’m a mix from my American father and Chinese mother, sharper, smaller nose and poutier lips. Not pale not tan- but I suppose more tan than pale and much much tanner than the ideal woman in terms of Asian societal standards. I suppose my face is attractive, but I have this sort of innocent looking face and so I don’t the criteria of sexy that western men want in terms of face and I’m not thin, pale like what Asian men want. I just don’t feel like I fit the type of an ideal woman anywhere I go and it’s so disappointing. I wish I were tall and thin- lol I don’t really want chest or a butt. You’re lucky you’re fair and tall.
Not only that but my hair is wavy and black, men here like it straight and light/fair.

wow great survey loved it. see have never thought i was attractive (major self esteem issues). in my eyes i wanted to be the all american girl next door with the beautiful straight thin blond hair that even if it rains its straight. i always wanted the small build you know small boobs and hip less so i could fit into everything pretty. i can dream cant i lol. but then again when have you seen a portuguese girl with no curves my point exactly. so i learned to live with it even though i cant really wear the low cut shirts without having money thrown at me i ve learned that we all want what we dont have. But hey i have a great personality so there lol

What i really was surprised about was that they didnt mention skin color. That would have stopped my last seed of suspicion from germinating. Well, most of the boyfriends I’ve had don’t like when I have long hair… I like it but they don’t. So it depends on the guy. If you have short hair you’ll attract a guy who likes short hair. I mean, most women have long hair and so that’s probably why most men like long hair…idk. And I agree with Evelyn about Audrey. But entertaining post and a good means for debate.
As a model, with friends who are models and short friends,I have to say that I think your intro about petite women being more sought after is the only reason for them scoring high votes. You’ve made men feel self conscious about tall women, but in a real life situation shorter girls are ignored in favor of tall in every situation. My short friends may be prettier but every man around ignore them and head straight for me or one of my tall friends.

The truth is a man likes any women period. What’s that saying? A man will stick it wherever he can it? Something like that.
I understand some men are more picky than others however and that doesn’t mean that certain features aren’t more appealing to him.. However when I have asked my guy friend’s what they find the most attractive in a woman, the answer I usually get is, “I don’t know”.. or “I’m a butt man and I like a woman’s hips.” I never really here the whole I like the shape of her eyes or her high cheekbones etc.
Any size is adequate.A woman’s worth is WAY more than her bust size imho.
