Angels are messengers from God. They protect us, guide us, or carry out other heavenly tasks.
Therefore, angel dreams symbolize a greater force that is watching over us, directing us, sheltering us, or trying to show us something important, which is hidden. The important part about angel dreams, is in translating the message within, based on what is currently happening in our spiritual and physical life.
The message can be a shared joy of something divine that has happened, a blessing of good things to come, or a warning of something we should prepare for.
Interpreting Our Dream About Angels
To interpret our dream, we want to pay special attention to the angels.
- What were the angels wearing? What is the color and texture of their wings?
- What were the angels carrying?
- Is there only a single angel or multiple angels?
- Are our dream angels male or female?
- What were the actions or expressions of the angels?
What were the angels wearing
The color and material of the angel’s clothes and wings, are part of the message that they convey.
- White clothes and wings indicate purity, peace, blessings, and rejuvenation. We may be at peace with ourselves and our life. Alternatively, the white angels may be telling us that to achieve inner peace, we need to seek greater spiritual support, need to be cleansed, and need to focus on the purity of our actions.
- Colorful clothes and wings suggest playfulness and joy. We may be looking forward to something happy and hopeful in our future, which could be a new relationship, new job, promotion, inheritance, or some other good fortune.
- Black clothes and wings signal a warning of some kind. Our physical or spiritual well-being could be in danger, we could be burdened by sin or guilt, and we may need to take some action to heal ourselves.
What were the angels holding
The items held by the angels or carried on their person, will also have great significance. We want to examine each object carefully, explore what each of them symbolizes, as well as what they each mean to us.
- Objects of knowledge such as a book or scroll, indicates greater clarity for the future, and confidence in our actions.
- Objects of war such as a sword or staff, signals that we may be experiencing some inner turmoil in our life or some disturbance in our soul. We may need to do battle to regain our spiritual equilibrium.
- Objects of love and peace such as an olive brand or a dove implies hope, care, devotion, and self-sacrifice. We may have a difficult journey ahead of us, but we have faith in a brighter future.
- Food and drink suggests that we are in need of spiritual nourishment. We may be feeling depleted and tired as a result of our daily struggles. The angel may be telling us that we need to take some time for ourselves, and refocus on our inner self and spiritual well-being.
Number of angels
- A single angel indicates a purity of purpose and action. We need to cast off distractions, and focus on the thing that is most important to us.
- Three angels signals harmony, completeness, and the divine. Indeed, the triad or trinity is a powerful symbol with deep roots in culture and history. In Greek mythology there are three Fates, the triad also plays a central role in Celtic religion, and of course, there is the Holy Trinity. Therefore, a message carried by three angels is very potent, and may involve all of our body, mind and spirit.
- Multiple angels suggest good fortune, divine support, or spiritual fortitude. Angels guard and guide us. Therefore, having multiple angels watching over us, is a sign of great protection, and also an indication of a promising future.
If we are one of the angels in our dream, then likely, we have done something good and pure, we are planning to embark on a journey of spirituality, or planning to do God’s work.
Male or female angels
- Femininity is associated with the Venus symbol, which captures love, beauty, prosperity, and fertility.
- Masculinity is associated with the Mars symbol, which captures war, savagery, guardianship, and virility.
The masculinity or femininity of the angels in our dreams, also constitutes part of the message that they carry.
Actions, expressions, and environment
Finally, actions and expressions are also important. What did the faces of the angels convey, and how did we feel in their presence?
- A calm expression indicates that we are looking for some peace and quiet. Our life may be hectic at the moment, and we may need some protection from our daily noise and activity. We may be seeking sanctuary, some time for reflection, or spiritual comfort.
- A happy expression signals that we are feeling confident about our present and future. It may also signify a recent positive achievement, or the expectation of some imminent good news.
- A sad expression suggests future challenges and possibly heartache. However, we have a guardian angel watching over us, so we will ultimately prevail.
- An angry expression implies some mistake, wrong-doing, or sin. We need to admit our mistake, make amends, and try to do better in the future.
Similarly, the actions of our dream angels also carry meaning. An angel that is brandishing a sword in warning, will have a different message than one who is handing us his sword, or one who is standing still, with his sword pointed to the ground.
If we are being handed something, then we may need to perform an important task, or go on a quest for our spiritual well being. The nature of the task or quest will rely on the object handed to us. On the other hand, an angel standing with his sword pointed down, may be guarding us from something. Perhaps we need to be vigilant, check our spiritual defenses, and watch out for sinful temptations that may lead us astray.
Actions may also indicate immediacy of the message, in particular, whether we need to attend to it very soon, sometime in the near future, or NOW!
The environment surrounding our angel is also important. An angel standing in the middle of a storm, signifies spiritual turbulence, whereas one who is standing in a calm pool of water, signifies peace and relaxation.
Are Dream Angels Real?
When we dream of angels, there is always the question of whether the angels are real and sent by God, or whether they are a manifestation of our subconscious mind.
Studies show that a large percentage of Americans believe in angels.
- A poll in 2008 by the Baylor University Institute for Studies of Religion, shows that 55% of 1700 respondents, believe that they were protected from harm by a guardian angel.
- A 2007 Pew poll revealed that a whopping 68% of respondents believe that angels or demons are active in our world. Up to 20% describe encounters with either a heavenly or demonic being.
However, some argue that angel dreams and visitations are the result of our subconscious mind only. They further propose that visitations that occur during the day could be the result of lucid dreaming. It could also be the result of a hallucination or trance.
Are angels real?
As with all things spiritual, that is difficult to prove or fully disprove. The belief in angels, I think, is a very personal thing.
However, if through belief we gain hope, solace, and spiritual strength, then isn’t that the very purpose of an angelic guide and protector? And if so, then perhaps angels exist within us, if we but dare to see.
My dream.
I was standing stunned with what I saw and heard people screaming for help, sobbing, weeping and the world was collapsing, I was sorounded by a great destruction and chaos. And I heard cymbals, harps played by angels they all wear white I didn’t recognize thier faces because of light. The angels were gathered the one who is situated at the center were the three archangel michael, Gabriel and rafael. The one who command is Gabriel.. I was petrified and afraid and shameful of my sins. The angels was announcing who will be chosen to ascend to heaven and who will die in vain. I saw people lifted up. Then the angel put every one unto a prison wall. You cannot see the one on the other side. But I have recognize my mom’s voice at the other side. The wall being place as barracade there’s an image of saints you have been devoted to in my dream the wall image I got were Saint Thomas, Saint Peter and Paul, Then archangel gabriel flew down to where I am and kiss my cheeks. Then I woke up..
On 12/6/2020 around noon-ish, I had a very intense dream. I remember the possible time frame because I looked at my clock and it was 10:30am and when I woke it was around 1:20 pm. I remember thinking that I just could not fall asleep and it was bothering me. It was a lazy Sunday morning and my Beautiful girlfriend (Soon, more than this) was fast asleep in my arms. My right arm to be exact. She was sleeping so peacefully.
In my dream, I was walking in this house. It was all white. I thought it was a single story until I was up in a loft with a sloped ceiling with one ladder that connected the first floor to this loft. It was quite pleasant!
I was now downstairs and I saw three children with no faces, but laughing; sitting in a triangle. I walked over and made them laugh, but still never saw their faces. I wasn’t sure if it was two boys and one girl or one boy and two girls. At that age, we are gender-less as is our souls innocent.
I watched as my girlfriend was putting things away and organizing. Always silent, but was there in our environment.
I looked out of these windows and I said to myself that this is a good room because all of the light will enter here.
At that point, I saw a large (adult size) figure with three (children sized) figures, all in white coming towards me through this window. I went around to the opening, which lacked a front door and they entered. I was not scared or alarmed.
The adult sized form was a woman with a larger than life, friendly smile with brown eyes. She had a smile on her face like someone that was so happy! To my left were three (child sized) entities that were dressed in pure white. I could not see their faces, but I sensed their faces, but yet could not see their faces no matter how hard I tried.
This main (adult sized) person (not using the word Angel) Was in a pure white outfit. Brown eyes, some silver glitter around her neck with black feather hair. She held a sort of glistening wand and just smiled at me. It was an awkward moment because no questions were asked from her nor did I know what to say!?? She just came in and smiled happily at me!?
When I looked at her face, I knew her but never met her. She was so familiar, but a stranger!? She looked every age at once yet I could not tell her age. She was very happy and I just did not understand!?
I woke with a pounding head that lasted for a little over five minutes.

I was in a house…split level… there were a lot of lamps… a lot of windows… very cozy and warm looking… then i found a toy vanity set and in the drawer fell out some bones (little ones like in the movies when witch doctors roll them)… and all of a sudden i knew something was wrong… next thing i know i am outside…. and everything is starting to turn dark… i can hear movement… i can see shadows darker than the darkness around me and they are circling me… and then i asked GOD if he existed and if he could hear me i needed him more than ever… and that i needed a champion… and while still in darkness i see one of them coming towards me ready to leap towards me and i brace for impact the shadow stops in mid air as if he just hit a wall and suddenly that wall he hit lit up and there was a light surrounding me… i could see them circling me from the darkness… and behind me I felt a presence… i did not turn around but i knew it was guarding me… then the light that was surrounding me drove away the darkness and i felt the presence behind me disappear… and when i woke up… it was morning…
I had a dream last night, a kind male angel flew towards me, (he was floating above houses) and handed me “special” pants. He had black hair and white wings. The color of the pants was royal blue. I remember trying it on and looked at the mirror, for some reason the pants made me have some x-ray vision that were hidden between any objects. I looked around amazed and confused to how they worked. Then I woke up.
Last night before I went to bed…
I was debating on whether to surprise my boyfriend in Chicago for Christmas, which also happens to be his birthday. I was thinking about booking a same day flight on Christmas Eve and bringing nothing but a new guitar I am bought for him… he used to be a music Minister back in Europe and he once was devoted to the church, so I wanted to give him something that would be very special. I debated whether to surprise him or not and then went to bed.
Right after going to sleep, I immediately had a vision of young girl who was an angel… She was on the front cover of a book titled, “Beautiful Angels”, all I could see was the book, the title and her head…. She had short brown hair and pale skin with green eyes and blue and purple eyeshadow with bright lighting. The vision solely showed me this book and then I woke up immediately.
I went on Amazon and looked up the book title and out of the first few books that popped up, there was a book called, “MESSAGES OF GRACE: 111 NOTES OF LOVE AND GUIDANCE FROM YOUR ANGELS.”
I am still in shock and I am about to book my ticket right now.
I was guided by some silver short haired man in his 50s through some fields and a small town. We were walking through a small dark alley stepping on the ground made of tombstones. When we were passing a two story house surrounded by a huge fence, still walking on tombstones, the silver haired man said:
“They finally realized that they can die too”.
It was getting dark and we entered some sort of a city, he decided to make me run to catch him, instead of running I started to levitate, he was running really fast in the dark among the apartment buildings. There was a stranger witnessing our chase but he didn’t say anything or reacted. Then I finally caught him. He said he had long legs, and that’s why he ran so fast. I surrounded my hands around him, kissed him and asked him to never run away from me again. My hands were filled with light, I thought they were wings.
Then I guess we spent a night in some place and when I woke up and was about to leave I saw a bloody cuticle cut on my left hand thumb. I asked a woman who was a host in that place to disinfect my little cut, she did, but when I asked if she’s sure there was alcohol in a spray she just said hmmm and got stuck in the position. We left.
Next thing I see is an angel with a wounded wing, spreading its wings and cut disappearing with the more light that was shining within the angel. It was a 10 yr old child in a white tunic with bright hair and wings spread and growing.
In the end of the dream right when I felt at peace I saw a man looking at me. It was my twin flame. With a wing earring dangling on his left ear.
The thing is, my awakening in 2020 started with me accidentally cutting my thigh with a huge knife. But it was my right thigh. The angel had a cut in his left wing. I think that I channeled my twin flame which I believe is my guardian angel, when I recognized that I am indeed a mortal, after I accidentally cut myself. And he was sent to guard me and lead me through the time. First as an old man then in his true human form as a man who’s 10 yr. younger then me.
I dont remember it as much as i did earlier but it was vivid. I was going up to our rooftop, it was cloudy and dark so it looks like its about to rain, several dogs and cats were up there too including my own dog. I saw something beside the entrance and it looks like a yellow crumpled plastic bag so i assumed it was trash but under further inspection there was a big feather(i thought at first that it was a prop feather on a wing costume but as it went on i didnt think so), you see i heard somewhere that when you see feather that came out of nowhere it means that there was an angel so i waited for a bit to see if God was gonna give me any signs and soon enough i see sparks of fire near the place where i saw the feather.
A small tv with 4 stands that kinda looked like its from the 80s appeared. There i saw an angel that kinda looked like those creepy baby faced ceramic/porcelain statue of saints both me and the animals gathered around it. The voice sounded quite neutral and as i was listening i was debating in whether or not the angel was male or female leaning but i settled with male because there was somewhat of a lower pitch. He was so creepy tho, whenever he spoke his mouth didnt open, he just had this perpetual smile plastered on his face yet his body moves…its so uncanny.
He spoke in my native language(tagalog) there was one word that stuck out but i hate that i dont remember it anymore other than it start with the letters “Pe” other letters i remember is also e and ch. I do remember it having positive connotations, in general he mostly had positive things to say and i also remember these things were separated to 3 things, the last one was very wierd as he warned me not to rape, which ive never done…
I dunno how i should take this but this sounds like it could posibbly be legit and not just some wierd dream but i could be wrong
I’m 14 year old and I had a dream last night. I dreamt that I was in a summer camp with friends. There were three categories to pick,Musical group,science group, and art group. I picked the art group along with all of my close friends. But when we were having a meeting, 2 boys came that joined the group and one that looked at me as if he was in awe with me. Moving forward we came out to our boulevard in our city and I was sitting right next to him and their were only three of us outside that time. We were looking at the beautiful scenery until I looked at the left side of the scenery and saw a beam of light coming out from the sky(not close to us, far away). The beam of light was shining down on an angel. I think the angel was a He and he was wearing this white long flowy that covered his whole body and his white wings. It was so magical and amazing. Then suddenly a lot of angels appeared when he was coming closer to us three. And when they were near us,its like they gave us their grace. They wave their hands towards us and the three of us started praying but can’t seem to focus because we were mesmerized. Then it happened again when like all the people that were in the art group where there. We prayed again when they showered us something that I think is grace. It happened again when that guy that I think liked me were together and it happened again. And then I woke up but I can’t seem to shake that I don’t know that guy but he was very vivid in my dreams. I just think that somehow this guy is connected to me. I really wanna know who he is and the angel in my dreams where not holding anything and when I woke I felt so calm ang just happy but I can’t seem to find out why.
My father was passing away and at the edge of his bed at the bottom of his feet I fell asleeplas on the edge of a cliff as I look down and around me I could see clouds as I look down and when I looked up I seen to much to count there were so many but they were singing a heavenly war song and they were flying in a circle like I could see a tunnel out of no were they open up and just 1 came isliwly towards me I tried to scream but it was to hard nothing came out and then I woke up
4 years ago, I had something occur that didn’t seem like a dream. I just had my son, and dozed off around 4AM, but I felt that I woke up to a very bright light from my living room. I walked out the bedroom to see two white angels, with a bright light around them telling me “It’s time to go!”. I was very sick at the time, and told them that I can’t go with them, because my son and husband need me. They said, “Ok, but we’ll be back later!” And disappeared.
I can’t honestly say if it was a dream or not, because it felt so real. As I said, this happened August 2016, and to this day, it shakes me to the core because I swear it happened in real life.

It was just me and a few people outside and basically it start off looking like an unusual kite to me without a string and then i looked harder and noticed it resembled angels. They was magically appear in the sky Out of no where some where flying there in the sky and some just had that firework effect like that poof and they are there. They were just flying around and looked like they where just revealing them selves to me. I was like y’all are those angels and everyone was like yeah they are angels and starting recording and out of no where it was like lava was falling from
The sky and i ran in the house. Something i noticed was the angel had like a highlight of different colors on every angel on them like on the right bottom is was yellow and elsewhere on them i blue and other colors i don’t remember right now.
I had a weird dream last night before I woke up at 12 midnight, I dreamt that I was at the white house with a few friends from Church we were talking to the staff there, I was talking to President Donald J Trump about my country I made up called Lunaria( Lunar ) and all of a sudden it got dark and everyone was running and I went out side and when I looked up in the sky and Angel came down on top of me it had white eyes and I felt a sense of Judgement and Anger. It said to me he was the devour of Emperors Ra. I was very scared and didn’t know what was going on. I just kept looking him in the eyes and its wings were gray.
I dreamed that I was helping a friend to change for a present party and as I was standing by the door I saw a man with a white rope type of clothes. As he was passing by there was a strange noise that it was noticeable that it was this man passing by. As I looked down I notice he was floating and quickly said to my two other friends whom was in the room with me to look at the man that was floating. This friend I was helping change was acting afraid I wasn’t, seems like I was just surprised.
I had a dream where I saw some angels round me like a circle.They were not wearing any clothes but a wrapper around their waste like Jesus on the cross.Their hair is like dolly baby plastic permed,with sword in their hands.I tried to get out from that circle they surrounded me to ,in as much as I tried I couldn’t and was too tired and weak to get out.Their eyes balls were like fire too.And they are up to like 7 in numbers.Please,what does this dream means??? I think this is similar to my dream. In the dream, i walk up in the middle of somewhere, as i looked above into the sky, I saw an angel paused above with his head pointing torwards the earth and his legs straight up. He was a male angel in a white man’s skin, with white wings, and then each time I tried touching him, he flew up but i was still curious to touch him and speak to him. I also saw one little female angel flying playfully in the sky and wearing in white, What could it mean?
I dreamt of 3 or more angels i think 2 of them are brothers they invited me to a cloudy place and introduced themselves then after that they said “it’s time to go back” it feels like they were talking thru mind. After that i saw myself lying on my bed staring at the clouds talking to the angel it feels like he’s saying “don’t worry, stop worrying because i am always guarding you you are safe” then i woke up. I dreamt that something bad was about to happy, I walked over to the window and dusted off the snow from the top of the window and when the snow fell to the ground if sparkled and formed the shape of Mary the mother of God. She was white and wearing white. She smiled as not to worry. There was sparkles all around her and she sparkled all around me as to tell me not to worry. Then I woke up at 1:11 it was the best dream ever.
