Angels are messengers from God. They protect us, guide us, or carry out other heavenly tasks.
Therefore, angel dreams symbolize a greater force that is watching over us, directing us, sheltering us, or trying to show us something important, which is hidden. The important part about angel dreams, is in translating the message within, based on what is currently happening in our spiritual and physical life.
The message can be a shared joy of something divine that has happened, a blessing of good things to come, or a warning of something we should prepare for.
Interpreting Our Dream About Angels
To interpret our dream, we want to pay special attention to the angels.
- What were the angels wearing? What is the color and texture of their wings?
- What were the angels carrying?
- Is there only a single angel or multiple angels?
- Are our dream angels male or female?
- What were the actions or expressions of the angels?
What were the angels wearing
The color and material of the angel’s clothes and wings, are part of the message that they convey.
- White clothes and wings indicate purity, peace, blessings, and rejuvenation. We may be at peace with ourselves and our life. Alternatively, the white angels may be telling us that to achieve inner peace, we need to seek greater spiritual support, need to be cleansed, and need to focus on the purity of our actions.
- Colorful clothes and wings suggest playfulness and joy. We may be looking forward to something happy and hopeful in our future, which could be a new relationship, new job, promotion, inheritance, or some other good fortune.
- Black clothes and wings signal a warning of some kind. Our physical or spiritual well-being could be in danger, we could be burdened by sin or guilt, and we may need to take some action to heal ourselves.
What were the angels holding
The items held by the angels or carried on their person, will also have great significance. We want to examine each object carefully, explore what each of them symbolizes, as well as what they each mean to us.
- Objects of knowledge such as a book or scroll, indicates greater clarity for the future, and confidence in our actions.
- Objects of war such as a sword or staff, signals that we may be experiencing some inner turmoil in our life or some disturbance in our soul. We may need to do battle to regain our spiritual equilibrium.
- Objects of love and peace such as an olive brand or a dove implies hope, care, devotion, and self-sacrifice. We may have a difficult journey ahead of us, but we have faith in a brighter future.
- Food and drink suggests that we are in need of spiritual nourishment. We may be feeling depleted and tired as a result of our daily struggles. The angel may be telling us that we need to take some time for ourselves, and refocus on our inner self and spiritual well-being.
Number of angels
- A single angel indicates a purity of purpose and action. We need to cast off distractions, and focus on the thing that is most important to us.
- Three angels signals harmony, completeness, and the divine. Indeed, the triad or trinity is a powerful symbol with deep roots in culture and history. In Greek mythology there are three Fates, the triad also plays a central role in Celtic religion, and of course, there is the Holy Trinity. Therefore, a message carried by three angels is very potent, and may involve all of our body, mind and spirit.
- Multiple angels suggest good fortune, divine support, or spiritual fortitude. Angels guard and guide us. Therefore, having multiple angels watching over us, is a sign of great protection, and also an indication of a promising future.
If we are one of the angels in our dream, then likely, we have done something good and pure, we are planning to embark on a journey of spirituality, or planning to do God’s work.
Male or female angels
- Femininity is associated with the Venus symbol, which captures love, beauty, prosperity, and fertility.
- Masculinity is associated with the Mars symbol, which captures war, savagery, guardianship, and virility.
The masculinity or femininity of the angels in our dreams, also constitutes part of the message that they carry.
Actions, expressions, and environment
Finally, actions and expressions are also important. What did the faces of the angels convey, and how did we feel in their presence?
- A calm expression indicates that we are looking for some peace and quiet. Our life may be hectic at the moment, and we may need some protection from our daily noise and activity. We may be seeking sanctuary, some time for reflection, or spiritual comfort.
- A happy expression signals that we are feeling confident about our present and future. It may also signify a recent positive achievement, or the expectation of some imminent good news.
- A sad expression suggests future challenges and possibly heartache. However, we have a guardian angel watching over us, so we will ultimately prevail.
- An angry expression implies some mistake, wrong-doing, or sin. We need to admit our mistake, make amends, and try to do better in the future.
Similarly, the actions of our dream angels also carry meaning. An angel that is brandishing a sword in warning, will have a different message than one who is handing us his sword, or one who is standing still, with his sword pointed to the ground.
If we are being handed something, then we may need to perform an important task, or go on a quest for our spiritual well being. The nature of the task or quest will rely on the object handed to us. On the other hand, an angel standing with his sword pointed down, may be guarding us from something. Perhaps we need to be vigilant, check our spiritual defenses, and watch out for sinful temptations that may lead us astray.
Actions may also indicate immediacy of the message, in particular, whether we need to attend to it very soon, sometime in the near future, or NOW!
The environment surrounding our angel is also important. An angel standing in the middle of a storm, signifies spiritual turbulence, whereas one who is standing in a calm pool of water, signifies peace and relaxation.
Are Dream Angels Real?
When we dream of angels, there is always the question of whether the angels are real and sent by God, or whether they are a manifestation of our subconscious mind.
Studies show that a large percentage of Americans believe in angels.
- A poll in 2008 by the Baylor University Institute for Studies of Religion, shows that 55% of 1700 respondents, believe that they were protected from harm by a guardian angel.
- A 2007 Pew poll revealed that a whopping 68% of respondents believe that angels or demons are active in our world. Up to 20% describe encounters with either a heavenly or demonic being.
However, some argue that angel dreams and visitations are the result of our subconscious mind only. They further propose that visitations that occur during the day could be the result of lucid dreaming. It could also be the result of a hallucination or trance.
Are angels real?
As with all things spiritual, that is difficult to prove or fully disprove. The belief in angels, I think, is a very personal thing.
However, if through belief we gain hope, solace, and spiritual strength, then isn’t that the very purpose of an angelic guide and protector? And if so, then perhaps angels exist within us, if we but dare to see.
I woke up from a dream last 2:39am of nov.9 2021, i dream that beside the moon i saw a big golden leg with a star on it and that leg is from an angel leg i dont know if the angels are a she or a he. I was not thinking awake. So when I woke up i only remembered certain pieces of my dream . Um I was confused in the dream , wondering where I was … a dude im guessing he was like the head in charge told me & another person that we were fallen angels. We ended up going into a place and there were chairs at a table . Each chair had like their own packet . Like some paper work & a different type of gun or weapon next to each one … we were all wearing black .. im just soooo confused & scared .. can somebody please help me out!
As a teenager I had a lot of paranormal activity around me. Dreams which came true, seeing ghosts and other stuff. Than one night I had a dream which I can’t forget. An angel in a white dress, and with white wings came into my bedroom. She stretched her arm out as an invatation to come with her. I took her hand and suddenly I was flying upwards. In mere seconds I was in space looking down on earth. The angel flew a bit further away so I could see our entire solar system. She pointed at it and it suddenly was away. As if I was watching a movie fastforward, I saw how our solar system was formed over milions of years. Last but not least earth. I do not know why she showed me this but she did. After that she brought me back to my bedroom where I could see myself lying in bed. I lied down as well and got up. From that moment on the dreams which came true and the most violent paranormal activities went away. However, recently I wonder if something in me is changing, like if she placed my gifts on hold for later. I getting a stronger feeling that need to help people and that I’m not home on earth. I don’t understand the cruelties on our world, or how people can not see things the way I do. Life is beautifull and painfull at the same time. I do not understand why we are destroying our own beautifull planet, which supports our lives. I feel the need to guide people to change our ways of life, but I do not know how. Can anyone relate to this? What does this mean?

I don’t know if I was dreaming or if I was awake but if I had to give an answer I would say I was definitely awake I woke up to a spiritual Heavenly light beautiful colors I’ve never seen before shimmering so I stood up on my bed and the spirit started talking to me without using words and I didn’t use my mouth to talk to the spirit either it was some kind of telepathy between me and this angel or spirit and it asked me to go with it it gave me a choice to stay or go and I look down at my daughter and I said no I need to stay here and be with my daughter and the spirit told me you will suffer if you stay here like something really bad is going to happen in the world and this was back in 2005 so it was warning me it wanted to save me the pain of going through what’s going to happen but I chose to stay for my daughter I’m pretty much going to say I was wide awake for this cuz I went right back to sleep remember everything detail for detail and I’ve only told two people this is the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me besides a man in a black robe protecting me but then again that’s another story but that was actually a dream very interesting one that makes me ask questions everyday
I had a vision of a angel in all white with white wings with a white robe carrying a baby to heaven the light was so beautiful .the angel was smiling but the light was what got me.

I had a dream in that I’m a cursed person who have powers like angel and my duty is to collect demons who escaped from hell. Angels and my power was started to reduce and suddenly demons started to escape from hell. I also met a small girl who can see demons.
I had a dream in that I’m a angel( I don’t know it until my mother died in dream) and my mother in dream before dying gave me power and died in hands of demons and monsters, they came to kill me for that power , while fighting with them my wings suddenly appeared which is in golden colour and some what invincible. I had super strength, jumping very much hight etc. I met few people who is like me but I m very power full then they are.They don’t know that I’m very powerful then them. After that I met a person in a village and he has a daughter and his wife was not alive. After staying few days suddenly some monsters took her away ,I couldn’t tolerate and suddenly for the first time I started to fly ( I think so I loved her), after that I don’t remember what happened.
Just before I was about to wake up, after a deep and dresmful night’s sleep, I felt agitated because I did not want to come back into my body and wake up. Suddenly thee very long, silvery and shiny angels surrounded my body. As I was watching them and my body from aside the three angels raised their swords in unison and thrusted it into my body, right through my heart and guts. It felt so real that I woke up and was shaking down to my core. I cannot shake off the feeling of being thrusted by three swords, I can even hear the sound of it… What is this?
I had covid-19 recently for 3wks straight. I almost died. Now doing oh so much better and running around like a monkey, I have been getting this one repeated dream. I see just all white sky affect and I see me, myself as an angel. Wearing a long, no sleeves, white garb. My face is calm. And it appears I’m floating in heaven. BUT at that moment I awaken and my mind screams COVID ! When I go back to sleep.

I dream see an angel 25 of December 2020 she was all white and tall it was like she was hiding from me behind an tree but I saw her and she was looking in my eyes she had an stick like gold in her right hand and she came over me I was so scared she just looked at me and fly away then I woke up it was so real never felt so afraid in any of my dreams before
I dreamed that i had a solo dance performance and i was little bit worried since I have left dancing for more than 3 years and when i was about to start performing I saw four female angels wearing white dress with big wings and that moment I realised that it was an angel Literally i was so happy and i prayed and thanked them but within a minute I saw them disappearing
I dreamt seeing an angel who is like the color of Gold in space flying in the skies. Then when I saw the Angel. The angel started to descend towards me. I just dreamt sort of the same thing! I dreamt of like a golden man or angel in the sky except with a big gold trumpet and it would zoom from one point of the sky to the next. I have no idea what it means but I definitely remember it so it had to represent something.
I dreamed on this morning when i saw something above is flying white color. It comes near towards me, it was a female angel. She’s beautiful and look sexy wearing her white dress. I dreamt of an angel in the bathroom with me it was steaming and I felt a presence and I looked back and behind me the angel is there wearing a white towel beautiful and yet not huge but tall and very masculine and muscular it was steamed Madison the angel had beautiful curly hair and pure beautiful skin and I saw a scar on the back and I touched it and the angel looks back calmly and then when I return to my mirror and wipe the steam away from the window the angel came to me and looked for the scars on my back which I did not have and then I looked back at myself and I was starting to become muscular also
I dreamed i was walking and people started looking up and as i look up ibsaw a white thing flying as it get closer it was an angel i tried to take photo but always comes blurry and we saw it go down and I went there and I saw 3 angels the other 2 walk away as they were distributing foods and the other one jnwas able to see up front and close and HE was very clean shiny and the clothes brightly white and the face I can’t describe very pleasant looking he hand me a can food but I didn’t bother looking as I was mesmerized by looking at the Angel I ask if I can take a photo he smiled and when I tried i can’t then He flew away together with the other 2 Angels .
I dreamed im standing in a house, someone else was looking out the back door! They are stunned and can’t move. The angel comes down to my eyesight and it scares the hell out of me! Super large im thinking its a gargoyle! I take off running and as I look back is shooting fairy dust out of its fingertip towards the walls! The other one comes and stops me , and does the same thing but the fairy dust leaves the fingertips and I wake up! They both were colorful and smiling angels not pure white or dark! I woke up at 23:50pm on 25th December from a very vivid lucid dream. I was in a strange place which looked like hell and surrounded by demons and ready to pounce on me. A stranger turned to me and said, “What are you going to do? There are too many. Don’t do anything stupid.” I looked down at my hands and noticed a water flask I was carrying. I can’t remember the exact words I used but I concentrated really hard and asked for God’s help to bless this water. I opened my eyes and poured some water on the palm of my hand, approached one of the Demons and placed my palm on his forehead. I spoke some other words referring to God, which I can’t fully remember and stepped back. For a moment the Demon continued to smile at me and then his skin started to dissolve. At this point I was backing away form many other demons, flicking what I assume was holy water at them and repeating words, again I can’t remember. I eventually backed into someone, whom cradled his arms around me in an embrace. I felt protecting and felt safe and calm. Almost at peace. And that’s when I woke up.
