Angels are messengers from God. They protect us, guide us, or carry out other heavenly tasks.
Therefore, angel dreams symbolize a greater force that is watching over us, directing us, sheltering us, or trying to show us something important, which is hidden. The important part about angel dreams, is in translating the message within, based on what is currently happening in our spiritual and physical life.
The message can be a shared joy of something divine that has happened, a blessing of good things to come, or a warning of something we should prepare for.
Interpreting Our Dream About Angels
To interpret our dream, we want to pay special attention to the angels.
- What were the angels wearing? What is the color and texture of their wings?
- What were the angels carrying?
- Is there only a single angel or multiple angels?
- Are our dream angels male or female?
- What were the actions or expressions of the angels?
What were the angels wearing
The color and material of the angel’s clothes and wings, are part of the message that they convey.
- White clothes and wings indicate purity, peace, blessings, and rejuvenation. We may be at peace with ourselves and our life. Alternatively, the white angels may be telling us that to achieve inner peace, we need to seek greater spiritual support, need to be cleansed, and need to focus on the purity of our actions.
- Colorful clothes and wings suggest playfulness and joy. We may be looking forward to something happy and hopeful in our future, which could be a new relationship, new job, promotion, inheritance, or some other good fortune.
- Black clothes and wings signal a warning of some kind. Our physical or spiritual well-being could be in danger, we could be burdened by sin or guilt, and we may need to take some action to heal ourselves.
What were the angels holding
The items held by the angels or carried on their person, will also have great significance. We want to examine each object carefully, explore what each of them symbolizes, as well as what they each mean to us.
- Objects of knowledge such as a book or scroll, indicates greater clarity for the future, and confidence in our actions.
- Objects of war such as a sword or staff, signals that we may be experiencing some inner turmoil in our life or some disturbance in our soul. We may need to do battle to regain our spiritual equilibrium.
- Objects of love and peace such as an olive brand or a dove implies hope, care, devotion, and self-sacrifice. We may have a difficult journey ahead of us, but we have faith in a brighter future.
- Food and drink suggests that we are in need of spiritual nourishment. We may be feeling depleted and tired as a result of our daily struggles. The angel may be telling us that we need to take some time for ourselves, and refocus on our inner self and spiritual well-being.
Number of angels
- A single angel indicates a purity of purpose and action. We need to cast off distractions, and focus on the thing that is most important to us.
- Three angels signals harmony, completeness, and the divine. Indeed, the triad or trinity is a powerful symbol with deep roots in culture and history. In Greek mythology there are three Fates, the triad also plays a central role in Celtic religion, and of course, there is the Holy Trinity. Therefore, a message carried by three angels is very potent, and may involve all of our body, mind and spirit.
- Multiple angels suggest good fortune, divine support, or spiritual fortitude. Angels guard and guide us. Therefore, having multiple angels watching over us, is a sign of great protection, and also an indication of a promising future.
If we are one of the angels in our dream, then likely, we have done something good and pure, we are planning to embark on a journey of spirituality, or planning to do God’s work.
Male or female angels
- Femininity is associated with the Venus symbol, which captures love, beauty, prosperity, and fertility.
- Masculinity is associated with the Mars symbol, which captures war, savagery, guardianship, and virility.
The masculinity or femininity of the angels in our dreams, also constitutes part of the message that they carry.
Actions, expressions, and environment
Finally, actions and expressions are also important. What did the faces of the angels convey, and how did we feel in their presence?
- A calm expression indicates that we are looking for some peace and quiet. Our life may be hectic at the moment, and we may need some protection from our daily noise and activity. We may be seeking sanctuary, some time for reflection, or spiritual comfort.
- A happy expression signals that we are feeling confident about our present and future. It may also signify a recent positive achievement, or the expectation of some imminent good news.
- A sad expression suggests future challenges and possibly heartache. However, we have a guardian angel watching over us, so we will ultimately prevail.
- An angry expression implies some mistake, wrong-doing, or sin. We need to admit our mistake, make amends, and try to do better in the future.
Similarly, the actions of our dream angels also carry meaning. An angel that is brandishing a sword in warning, will have a different message than one who is handing us his sword, or one who is standing still, with his sword pointed to the ground.
If we are being handed something, then we may need to perform an important task, or go on a quest for our spiritual well being. The nature of the task or quest will rely on the object handed to us. On the other hand, an angel standing with his sword pointed down, may be guarding us from something. Perhaps we need to be vigilant, check our spiritual defenses, and watch out for sinful temptations that may lead us astray.
Actions may also indicate immediacy of the message, in particular, whether we need to attend to it very soon, sometime in the near future, or NOW!
The environment surrounding our angel is also important. An angel standing in the middle of a storm, signifies spiritual turbulence, whereas one who is standing in a calm pool of water, signifies peace and relaxation.
Are Dream Angels Real?
When we dream of angels, there is always the question of whether the angels are real and sent by God, or whether they are a manifestation of our subconscious mind.
Studies show that a large percentage of Americans believe in angels.
- A poll in 2008 by the Baylor University Institute for Studies of Religion, shows that 55% of 1700 respondents, believe that they were protected from harm by a guardian angel.
- A 2007 Pew poll revealed that a whopping 68% of respondents believe that angels or demons are active in our world. Up to 20% describe encounters with either a heavenly or demonic being.
However, some argue that angel dreams and visitations are the result of our subconscious mind only. They further propose that visitations that occur during the day could be the result of lucid dreaming. It could also be the result of a hallucination or trance.
Are angels real?
As with all things spiritual, that is difficult to prove or fully disprove. The belief in angels, I think, is a very personal thing.
However, if through belief we gain hope, solace, and spiritual strength, then isn’t that the very purpose of an angelic guide and protector? And if so, then perhaps angels exist within us, if we but dare to see.
About a week ago I had, what to me was a rather disturbing like dream. For starters I’m not a christen, I haven’t been for about 6 to 7 years now. I do believe in God and Angels and Demons and so on. (I’m very withheld on my religion).
I’m sitting in my room, on my bed. In the beginning of my dream it’s night, about the actual time I must’ve fallen asleep.
Everything in my room is in its proper place and nothing is off. I have a rather large two-person and I’m sitting in the middle of it. On my left on the bed is sitting a demon. He’s very relaxed, laid back and I feel comfortable having him there. I knew he meant no harm and let myself relax around him.
When I look to the footend of the bed, there is Gabriel, of which I know is my guardian angel. He seems ticked off and angry, radiating this certain aura, I’d describe it as hostile, which makes me feel very uncomfortable.
The demon picked up on this and moved me further back into the bed and sets himself right next to me with an arm holding on to me to keep Gabriel away from me.
They start arguing which started somehow calm but their voices were full of spite. After a while the argument got more aggressive and the demon stood up to stand in front of me. When I got to look at Gabriel again he slightly smiled at me with a sad expression. But his expression immediately changed back to an angry one.
Something was said between the two and then they both silenced. The demon returned back to my side and held me so I leaned into him.
I felt more comfortable again but kept a close eye on Gabriel.
I don’t know what this dream meant and the feeling I got from it has been haunting me since then. It would make sense to me to feel comfortable around a demon but it doesn’t make sense I’d feel uncomfortable around my guardian angel nor that he seemed enraged with me.
I’ve looked far and wide for someone who can properly explain this to me.
I would say it is because the angel was saddened and hurt because your what seems to be choose evil… The smile is him showing his compassion as if to say everything will be ok… But he is fighting for you but you are rejecting and fight against him as well… At least that is my take on it
Last night I had a dream that I was sitting on a seat surrounded by a bunch of people. These people were trying to harm me, some were holding my hands others my feet. I was so terrified and I couldn’t get away. This huge white light come down from the sky it was an angel.she was sparkling whte I could see no face. I had a dream where i woke up on a river bed (which i believe i had previously died) and saw a young female angel standing over me and she was wearing a white dress and i stood up and we started walking through the woods the river was surrounded by…and then my dream changed and the former female angel and i were standing in the middle of a burning city and both of us were wearing armor and had we both had swords in hand…if possible i would love an explanation?
i dreamt that I crossed over the mountains and the rivers and suddenly at a point there was no way go get out and i was just stuck in the middle of the place surrounded by 6-7 demons and I shouted “JESUS”. then suddenly an angel appeared and his dress was of white color and wings too holding a sword and fighting against the demon.
I awoke from a dream, startled, but excited that I had been visited by several angels. There was a group of 6 angels and Jesus Christ was in the center just above them. They were in the clouds, but fairly low. They were all in bright colors. I was in awe that they came to see me. Off to my right side another smaller angel came flying down toward me, almost close enough to touch. It stopped, hovering above me at arms length and opened it’s mouth to speak, but the only sound that came out was a screeching scream. Then they all turned and rose back up into the sky. Could you please help me understand what this could mean? It feels very important that I know what they were trying to tell me. Even as I write this, tears fall from my eyes, and I don’t know why.

I had a dream twice about angels, the first was an angel came to me with a happy face and fly over me like he/she was playing with me. The second was when i came out of our house a houndreds of angels was flying around in the sky wearing whites dresses and one angel swoop me up in the sky with the other angels and we started to play. Hello, I’m Bryanna. I know angels are real because recently I found out I was an earth angel. But I have many questions that I hope someone can answer for me cause it is bugging me to the point of depression. First things first, I had my first experience of the Divine realm when I was 11-12. I was sleeping in my grandmothers room when I had a strange feeling someone was watching me, so i looked at the wall, and I saw a light shadow that looked like Jesus. It had stayed there for a little while, but then it went away. If you know what that means, please tell me because I really need to know.
About a year after that happened, I had an apocalyptic dream that I was a warrior angel, and that the apocalypse had started, and I was fighting alongside Jesus against the evil that has corrupted the world.
As I got older, I got more and more mature, and people are always commenting how i’m so mature at my age, me being 14. And i always had a strange feeling that I never belonged, that I was meant for something else. Well, in august of this year, (2015) I had the earth to look up if people could be angel, and what they signs were. Sure enough, I had very similar signs, and i was in tears of relief to find out what i was.
Then one day, I told my friend Kira about who I was, and I thought she may be one too. I have a strong feeling she is. But when I talked to her about it, she said a couple days before she knew I lived near her, she had a dream about an angel that looked very similar to me. She said the angel had wings different colors of white, gray, and black. She said there was another color, but she couldn’t identify it. She also says that when she is around me, she feels a good presence from me. But when she is beside me, she can sense an evil presence on the other side. Please, if anybody knows what any of this means, please tell me. I have been feeling like something bad is going to happen lately, and i fear that if i don’t completely know everything about myself, I won’t be able to protect those who need it. Please help.

I had dream where I was outside with my family, I was sitting on this wall looking into the night sky then in the corner of my eye I see a bright object(the Angel), it catches my attention immediately, so I’m watching the Angel just fly around the night sky, he/she had such beautiful glowing wings, it looked so clear to me, but yeah I was watching him/her fly around then the Angel disappeared over the mountains. I dreamed of and young female Angel dressed in all white with white wings covered by a bright light all over her body but i could only see the face ,the angel called me by my name and say i must follow her,as we were rising above we riched a place where was full of people dressed in all white the angel handed me over to them and they open the brown gate for me and say welcome to heaven then another man came and say i want to show you how we live in heaven as he was showing me around then a bright light came from our left site and the man sad here comes Jesus then he disapeared and Jesus put his hand around my shoulder and say i want to show you the secret of heaven, then a pure white cloud came and it had white doves in it and Jesus sad to me that not everything on earth start from the screech sometimes i bring things at night when you are asleep like this doves am taking them to earth then he sad look at the stars i can command one star to move and as the star is moving you have to make a wish then the star moved and i made a wish. Jesus’s last word was go and tell the world that am alive.

like it was me going to a class and then all the power went out so then everyone was like ‘hmm power outage?’
Then in the distance you see dark cloud approaching and the feeling of anxiety began flowing through my body,
I ran as well as everyone around
I was running to my car and realized it was stolen so I was left with me and my own body to escape the approaching evil

As night slowly began to Scend I approach a church and do not enter through the front but through the rood where I met an old women who gave a welcoming presence ,she was taking care of a garden on the roof of the church

In a distant with a flash of thunder I saw an angel carrying a man who seemed passed out
He carried him upward and as thunder flashed on and off I could see the angel toying with the man and it a split of a second he tore the man apart mid air it was very gruesome

First, I would like to know how long you been a agnostic and why. The vision you had is the future of us if we don’t give and show thanks to the Heavenly Father God. Every dream is a future life happening. It may not be you in the dream, but you still have to pray for the next person life. To run in darkness is not a good sign. Running to a church 7s a sign that your soul wants to be save and the earthly body is struggling. Flowers can be use any kind of way. Flowers are good and death. The elder lady is you trying to enjoy the peace flowers give. To be at the top of building and seeing the anger of angels taken out on the man is a sign to you that no matter how high you get in your life living, you still can face destruction. Please know that in your life God and his angels have always been with you. We don’t want to believe that someone greater helps us. Sometimes we ask ourself why does anything bad has to happen to us. To make us stronger to face other bad. Sometimes we can protect self from bad. If you believe in bad there is also good. You need to find the true church and keep asking God for the knowledge to understand his message. He is real.
I’ve had a dreamt that I was an angel in long white dress that carrying a light in my hands and with light from heaven on my back. I’ve had special mission here on earth to help everyone who are needy of God’s words. Our creator will took me back from where I came as soon as I’m done with my mission. Before that, I’ve had dreamt that God gave me messages that I need to help Him to spread His words that everyone should repent for their sins,pray,praise and turn back to him. We people need to do this for the final judgment was His last message in my dream. He visited me 3 times. First day,was good Friday then easter Sunday and third just an ordinary day with the same messages. I saw His brilliant and shining hands and cloak. Are this dreams connected or meaningful? Well God is clearly speaking directly to you through your dreams. And I think that when he told you the same message on the day before Easter, Easter Day, and the “regular” day after, I think this is showing that during the sad times (the day before Easter before Jesus rose) you need to spread his word, and on Easter Day (during the very good times) you need to spread his word, and lastly, during the “normal” days, you need to spread the word and tell people about him and what he tells you to do in your dreams.
I dreamed that there were multiple angels(males and females)in our backyard. They were wearing white. And were singing harmoniously at me. The sun was shining brightly. As they sang,one angel handed me an open bible, but I forgot what was written in it or what page it is. Angels do exist good and bad. I will share an experience with a fallen angel in human form with you guys. Then an experience that changed my life in a wonderful way.
Myself and a friend were out and I felt really uneasy and worried / scared all of a sudden panicked. I felt something Not pleasant around me and I asked my friend do you feel weird and do you see anything strange. He said yes and I told him there is something watching us and he said yes and looked directly up to the top of a 30 story building which is exactly where my eyes were drawn too Though I did not tell him because I wanted to see if he was feeling the same. He was. This thing was standing at the top looking down intensely.
In a split second this very tall dark haired handsome man was standing 10 metres in front of us. I grabbed my friends hand and prayed to God. He stood there looking around and looking right through us. It was almost as though he couldn’t see us frozen still. He was wearing a dark long coat and what looked like black work boots in summer. He was taller than anyone else. He must have been an easy 6.5 or a little taller. He stood and took a few steps and walked like a soldier. Then we didn’t move out of fear and we’re both staring at him, holding hands tightly and whispering how he looked (facial features) he was kind of way to perfect looking like a sculpture just perfect looking but not human. I can’t really describe him any other way. I knew he was not human and he was looking for us. We took our eyes of him for 10 seconds to look at each other and he was gone completely vanished. I told my friend we have to leave immediately and find help as I felt I was in danger. We drove to a well known very old catholic church where the one Head priest became really panicked and called people almost within a minutes of our arrival. In minutes there was about 8 priests. They stood around us in a circle and chanted in tongues and the old priest said you cannot leave, it’s not safe. I feel what is following you. We went in side and read the bible and spoke for 6 hours or so. At one point I stood on the front steps with the head priest and asked him do you feel that he said yes, I asked him can you see him and he said yes, then I asked the priest to point to where this thing was standing and he did. He saw him too!! He assured me he cannot come into the grounds and we are safe.
We stayed there for 6 hours, one priest lost his mind and said some not very nice thing and was escorted away from us into another part of the building. Another priest apologised and said its that things out side. When it came time to leave my self my friend and all the priests stood on the front steps of the church just feeling calm and safe and then we all heard a lady singing in a beautiful voice. She sang for about two minutes. And no it wasn’t a neighbour or passer by.. No one spoke a word,we all stood and sat listening in absolute awe and then all staired at each other like are you hearing this. So yes I have seen a fallen Angel and he looked just like a tall handsome man. If you see or feel one pray to God and get away as fast as you can.
Angels and Heaven do exist and heavenly Angels have quiet Beautiful voices, they speak softly and slowly.
I had a Nde at 13 and saw my body laying on the ground just watching from above and a little away. Watching for a few moments and I watched people rush up to my body, crowd around me then pick my body up and carry me away. I saw two men carry my lifeless body away. Then I went to heaven and saw and felt something so beautiful, I was healed completely by someone standing near me and talking to me very softly – an Angel. He spoke then To me then I was immediately back in my body. I should have broken nearly every bone in my body Including my skull or had brain damage from severe impact trauma but I had not one scratch on me and the nurses and doctors were dumb founded, I just woke up in the hospital bed mentally and emotionally traumatised at what had happened to me and the doctor said it is an absolute miracle you are not injured… Only if he knew..I never told anyone until I hit my mid 20’s about what I saw and for years I would cry when thinking about it.
I have had lots of interesting and lovely dreams of visiting heaven and talking and listening to heavenly beings though they are more like OBE’s as I tend to do this, i cant say what I was there for but I can say that What occurs words can’t really describe and I always have other curious experiences that i was asked to write a book about but I declined – very interesting experiences since I was very young.
